This is a nice, very clean back-packers hostel. It is out of town, but on the #31 bus route (locals say the walk is about 10 minutes. It took us twice as long since the bus from town stops on the opposite side of the divided highway: you have to walk downhill to the pedestrian tunnel under the highway, then up the quite steep hill to the hostel. Fortunately, we found a guy at the city-bound bus stop who told us we were on the wrong sidewalk and how to find the hostel. The bottom line is (1) the hostel is not up the sidewalk parallel to the highway, but is on the (flat) wide walkway next to it. Later, there is a y with a sign with the hostel's name pointing to the left. It is way up the hill ... but you have a great view. Be aware that they expect you to bring your own sheets and towel. We rented them. People have written that Oslo is expensive. A bottle of beer at a downtown restaurant was $10 and it was about $20 for the cheapest entre (lasagna). We found prices of everything to be double what we pay in downtown Houston. The good news is you can ask the front desk to order pizza for you ... that is a good value and with essentially free delivery is an outstanding alternative to calling a $50 taxi. It was about $75 taxi to the OSL airport (be aware that there are two international airports in Oslo). Yes, I'd stay here again. Nicest hostel we've stayed in. Too bad they don't have cheap decent hotels and motels like we are use to ... and like we booked for two nights in Lisbon before the cruise. As an Oslo couple told us on the ship, "Norway is the most expensive country in Europe." I believe it.

I stayed for a few nights and had a great time. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The international atmosphere made it easy to meet new people, and the guest kitchen and laundry facilities were convenient. The rooms were simple, but considering the affordable price, it was a great value. The kitchen was well-equipped and I was even able to enjoy a Sunday roast cooked by another guest. The daily breakfast had a variety of options and was a great way to start the day. The spacious TV room provided a quiet space to relax. Kris at reception was super friendly and always willing to help plan my day. I would 100% recommend this hostel.

Would be happy to recommend this hotel.

Good value for money - especially considering the other options available to in Oslo. I found the staff were friendly and helpful - especially when I was arranging my travel back to the airport

Seemed to be quite "out of the way" - although this was fine for me it might be a problem for others.

Easy transport to the city, free parking, clean rooms, good breakfast, safe and friendly.

Free wi-if is advertised but it was not possible to connect an IPad to the wi if service.

Clean and well-maintained toilets and showers. Free breakfast, which was surprisingly good for a hostel. Convenient location with bus and tram stops nearby. Helpful and friendly staff. Free parking for guests.

Some rooms may not meet expectations, like being converted from storage rooms or having bunk beds instead of separate beds. Limited wireless network infrastructure.

Nice rooms. Nice common areas. International environment.

The Internet Connection or way to obtain Internet. In my case, I could not get Internet, and they did not know why... But other people got Internet in the common areas and even in the rooms.... However, that can be a problem of my computer and not of the Hotel WAN.

Fairly basic, but clean and completely adequate, good value for Oslo, well situated for public transport.

Located in a quiet neighborhood, this hostel is conveniently close to public transport links, making it easy to explore the city. the rooms are functional and have almost any facility you can think of, including a kettle, hairdryer, and tea/coffee. the staff is friendly and the beds are comfortable. the breakfast offers a good variety of food, and the hostel provides free parking.

Some guests mentioned that the air in the room can be stuffy, especially if the window is not opened before sleeping.

We stayed in a private 2 bedroom which was clean and spacious. Had to rent towels and bedding though which was a bit odd. Very quiet and the hostel had great facilities. It was a way out of the city centre but the tram and train were at the bottom of the hill a fib min walk. Would recommend as was great value for money! Breakfast was a great selection too!

Having to rent bedding and the location up a hill with a heavy bag was tiresome.

Nice room large enough for two and quite confortable, bathroom confortable too, Parking just in front of the room. Plentiful breakfast with a large choice of dishes (medium quality). People at the reception always very kind and helpful. If you go by car is easy to reach the Haraldsheim avoiding the traffic jams of the city centre.

Hostel quite peripheral so to reach the centre one's got to take a tram (17, just down the hill, 5 min walking, not too much when you don't have luggage...) or a bus (31) but there are means every 10 minutes and it takes about 20 minutes to get the central station. Bed linnen and towels have to be rented with a surcharge.

Very well organised hostel with tonnes of space for a lot of people. Has a fantastic breakfast, great games and activities, just minutes to a supermarket and two tram stops and a railway station. Lots of onsite parking. Excellent stay in a great city, would happily stay again. Really recommend this Hostel for singles, couples, groups and families.

Just that the guest kitchen gets quite busy and is not set up well enough for loads of people all trying to cook and clean at the same time.

Lovely hostel with helpful staff. Great breakfast. We stayed in the newly built rooms which were spotless with tv, kettle and bathroom for disabled travellers (I was using crutches). The only thing missing was a door stopper to prevent the door handle from damaging the wall. Location was very accessible by tram and bus. We enjoyed the outdoor chess. Also avaible are frisbee golf (bring your own frisbee) and table tennis. There were people of all ages staying at the hostel which was more like a hotel. My son and I loved it and would highly recommend it to other travellers: solo, families or the disabled.
